* RHP Nick Blackburn's next start will be pushed back to Saturday, rather than Friday, to give his troublesome elbow some extra rest. That means today's starter, RHP Carl Pavano, will throw again in a series opener on Friday at Kansas City.
* 3B Nick Punto (sore groin) will sit out again today before returning to the lineup on Tuesday.
* RHP Pat Neshek (finger) feels "better" after taking a cortisone shot on Saturday, but he won't be available until at least Tuesday. Glen Perkins is among the options if the Twins end up putting Neshek on the DL.
* RHP Alex Burnett, called up on Saturday to replace LHP Jose Mijares (elbow strain), has arrived from Class-AAA Rochester and is available today.
