The Minnesota Vikings will be without five players as they begin exhibition No. 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs at 7 p.m. CT from Arrowhead Stadium.
Cornerback Jabari Price (unknown), linebacker Gerald Hodges (knee), defensive tackle Linval Joseph">Linval Joseph (calf), tight end Chase Ford (foot) and linebacker Brandon Watts (hamstring) will not suit up against the Chiefs. Both Price and Hodges were injured during last week's preseason win over the Arizona Cardinals.
The Vikings will have cornerback Josh Robinson, who has been on and off the field with a hamstring injury this offseason. Safety Robert Blanton (hamstring) will also see his first preseason action of the year after sitting out training camp.
Chris Crocker will start at safety alongside Harrison Smith, while Matt Asiata gets the nod at running back with Adrian Peterson continuing to sit out exhibition play. Fred Evans will continue to start for Joseph.
Hodges has averaged about 23 snaps per preseason game so far and his absence should open up a spot for someone like Michael Mauti, who has seen minimal action in the preseason.
