Andrew Krammer joins the Purple Podcast from Los Angeles to talk about the unsettled starters that remain with two games to go in the preseason.

Who is in the mix to start at safety next to Harrison Smith and how did Week 2 of the preseason impact that race? Is Marcus Sherels the third cornerback? Who could challenge him before the start of the regular season? What does Mike Zimmer think of Josh Robinson? Will he even make the team?

Andrew also notes an interesting wrinkle the Vikings are using on the defensive line, which includes Anthony Barr getting a look at defensive end. Barr said the plan is for him to be ready to take snaps at linebacker and at defensive end by Week 1 of the regular season.

And of course, it wouldn't be a Purple Podcast without mention of the quarterbacks. The safe bet right now is that Matt Cassel will start Week 1, while Teddy Bridgewater got a nice confidence boost in the second half of Game 2 of the preseason.
