The Baltimore Ravens activated tight end Dennis Pitta to their active roster on Saturday. Pitta has spent the entire season on injured reserve after he dislocated his hip in July. He is expected to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Pitta, while limited, could be a key addition to the Ravens' struggling, 19th-ranked passing attack. Quarterback Joe Flacco found Pitta for 163 yards and three touchdowns during the team's four-game playoff winning streak en route to last season's Super Bowl championship.
The Vikings have allowed a league-leading 26 passing touchdowns, eight to opposing tight ends. However, the tight end position has accounted for just five receptions and 60 yards in two games since linebacker Audie Cole took over in the middle fulltime alongside linebacker Chad Greenway.
