The Minnesota Vikings will be moving on without cornerback Chris Cook, who signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
Cook, 27, failed to intercept a pass in 29 starts (34 appearances) with the Vikings since he was drafted in the second round (34th overall) in 2010. Through legal trouble and a deep injury history, Cook missed 30 games in his four-year rookie deal with the Vikings.
He became an unrestricted free agent when the new league year opened on Tuesday and drew a simple reprimand from first-year coach Mike Zimmer when he was informed that Cook had sent out a series of Tweets that indicated he would not be receiving a contract extension before free agency opened this week.
