One day after re-signing DT Fred Evans, the Vikings have allowed former Bears DT Henry Melton to leave Winter Park, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Melton visited with the Vikings on Thursday.

The Vikings have a policy that they only confirm free agent visits once they've happened, so that confirmation came Friday morning.

Melton leaving for Seattle doesn't necessarily imply he won't sign with the Vikings. But with Minnesota retaining Evans, to go along with Sharrif Floyd and new nose tackle Linval Joseph, it appears the team has depth on the interior of the defensive line.
