Although they may seem to be an unlikely suitor, add the Sacramento Kings to the list of teams who may try to mount a trade for Timberwolves star Kevin Love.
The Kings have expressed interest to the Wolves about dealing for Love, even without any assurances that he would re-sign after next season, Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears reported on Monday.
Per Spears' report, the Kings would be willing to surrender their No. 8 overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft and a "combination of players" in exchange for Love.
The Kings, who stumbled to a 28-54 record last season, are the latest team rumored to be making a run at a trade for Love, joining the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.
Speculation regarding a potential Love trade has ramped up in the last couple weeks after reports surfaced indicating the All-Star forward reiterated to the Wolves he plans to use his option to opt out of his contract at the end of next season. Minnesota is said to have become increasingly open to trade proposals.
The push to put together offers for the Wolves is likely to continue building in the weeks before the draft on June 26th.
The Wolves are owners of the 13th overall pick.
