Minneapolis is among several cities considering making a bid for the 2016, 2017 College Football Playoff Championships, according to ESPN.com.

The other cities in the mix, according to the report, are Glendale, Ariz., Jacksonville, Fla., New Orleans, Tampa, Fla., Miami, San Antonio, Tex., San Francisco, Atlanta and Arlington, Tex.

Arlington will host the inaugural Championship on Jan. 12, 2015.

The deadline to submit requests for proposals to bid on the 2016 and 2017 title games is Sept. 27, according to the report. The 10 Football Bowl Subdivision commissioners and Notre Dame athletics director Jack Swarbrick will vote in November to determine the two sites.
