According a report from the Star Tribune's Jerry Zgoda, Minnesota Timberwolves' Nikola Pekovic (ankle) and Kevin Martin (thumb) are hopeful to return to action Saturday at the Sacramento Kings.

Pekovic hasn't played since Jan. 27 and Martin has been out since Feb. 7 after fracturing a bone in his non-shooting thumb.

"I still got some pain," Pekovic said via Zgoda. "I was really trying to [get] some conditioning [recently] and actually tonight was not bad.

"I was really surprised."

The Wolves are 6-7 since Pekovic went down, but have won four of their last five games. At 28-29, they're currently five games out of the eighth seed in the Western Conference playoff race behind Memphis and Phoenix, who the Wolves beat on Tuesday.

Martin (19 ppg) and Pekovic (18 ppg) are second and third on the team's scoring list, respectively.
