Report: Twins manager Gardenhire asked to coach on A.L. All-Star staff

Red Sox manager John Farrell said Tuesday that he's asked Ron Gardenhire to be one of his coaches for the 2014 All-Star Game, according to media reports.

Gardenhire would join Farrell and Terry Francona on the American League coaching staff. As the winning manager of the World Series, Farrell will manage the A.L. team for the All-Star Game, which will be hosted at Target Field in mid-July.

Gardenhire hosted his pregame media session before Farrell and didn't mention the All-Star staff. We'll ask about it after Tuesday's game between the Twins and Red Sox.
