Tuesday's NFL trade deadline could be interesting for the 1-6 Vikings. With their season all but over, the team could jettison extra parts to contenders for draft picks.

But apparently they won't be moving the valuable -- if expensive -- defensive end, according to a report.

Allen is owed about $7.5 million the rest of the season. And as Phil Mackey noted at 1500ESPN.com, the Vikings could get compensentory draft picks if they let Allen and several other free agents walk this season and don't sign an equal number. Mackey's report breaks down many of the complicated layers at play in potentially trading Allen.
