Cross Michael Johnson off the Minnesota Vikings' list of possible free agent options.

According to a report from's Ben Goessling, the Vikings are no longer in the running to land the former Cincinnati Bengals defensive end.

On Saturday, reports surfaced that the Vikings were interested in Johnson, who played on Minnesota first-year coach Mike Zimmer's defense at Cincinnati, and had reached out to the widely sought after 6-foot-7 end.

Johnson, 27, will reportedly likely head to Tampa Bay, where former Vikings coach Leslie Frazier is the defensive coordinator under Lovie Smith.

A day after the news of Minnesota's interest in Johnson, the Vikings re-signed defensive end Everson Griffen to a five-year, $42.5 million contract.

Free agency officially opens at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
