On the day the Minnesota Vikings traded away their top receiver, they apparently considered acquiring another one.
ProFootballTalk.com reported the Vikings offered a seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for veteran Anquan Boldin before the San Francisco 49ers acquired him for a sixth-rounder.
Boldin, 32, hasn't had a 1,000-yard receiving season since 2009 and reportedly was on the verge of being released after he turned down a pay cut. But he played well during Baltimore's Super Bowl run.
He's due $6 million in base salary in 2013 -- a hefty price, though one the Vikings apparently were willing to consider paying as they try to rebuild receiver corps that just lost Percy Harvin.
The only receivers the Vikings have under contract are Jarius Wright, Stephen Burton, practice-squad holdover Chris Summers and Greg Childs, who missed all of last season with two knee injuries.
