Rick Adelman will meet with the Minnesota Timberwolves about their head-coaching vacancy after all.

Roughly three weeks after saying he planned to sit out next season, Adelman was scheduled to meet with Wolves brass on Tuesday, reported.

Adelman, 65, has coached 20 NBA seasons and made the playoffs 16 times. However, the Houston Rockets let his contract expire on June 30 after consecutive non-playoff seasons.

Woves president of basketball operations David Kahn reportedly reached out to Adelman last month, but this is the first known face-to-face meeting.

Adelman becomes at least the seventh person to interview for the job since Kurt Rambis was fired on July 12, along with Don Nelson, Larry Brown, Bernie Bickerstaff, Terry Porter, Mike Woodson and Sam Mitchell.

Tom Pelissero is Senior Editor and columnist for He hosts from 6 to 8 p.m. weeknights and co-hosts from 10 a.m. to noon Sundays on 1500 ESPN Twin Cities.
