Jason Kubel's comeback with the Twins is nearly complete.
When Vance Worley cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A Rochester, the Twins created an opening on the 40-man roster.
Kubel will be added to that roster, and was informed Tuesday he'll make the team, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
Kubel will make $2 million base salary this season.
That likely is why the Twins released Matt Guerrier on Monday. He became a free agent when he was released, and the Twins saved $100,000 in a roster bonus that would have been due to Guerrier if he was still on the roster Tuesday.
Now, he'll return to the organization on a minor league contract, according to Bollinger. He'll start the season with Triple-A Rochester.
Guerrier has an opt-out clause in his contract, which he can exercise if he's not on the 25-man rosterby May 8, according to Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press.
