The Minnesota Timberwolves' pursuit of Rudy Gay apparently will be a short one.
According to multiple reports, Gay is close to signing a maximum deal -- five years, more than $80 million -- that will keep him with the Memphis Grizzlies. UPDATE, 2:31 p.m.: The Associated Press has confirmed the deal is done.
The Wolves moved quickly on Wednesday night to set up a meeting with Gay on Thursday, but the restricted free agent reportedly is cancelling that and other visits.
New York Knicks center David Lee, who is unrestricted, is still scheduled to visit the Wolves on Saturday.
