Johnny Manziel's  pro day has become a made-for-TV event. The appetite for Manziel mania is insatiable.

With all the hype surrounding the talented quarterback from Texas A&M, many speculate where in the first round he'll be drafted.

Currently the Vikings have the No. 8 pick and are in desperate need for a quarterback. Some wonder whether Minnesota would take a quarterback and forego the opportunity to upgrade its defense.

It's widely considered this draft has three quarterbacks in the top tier: Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles. Derek Carr, of Fresno State, also appears to be moving up draft boards.

How much can we learn from a scripted workout? That much is not clear, but some scouts debate their worth.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer apparently has told reporters he's more concerned with evaluating Johnny Football's leadership ability; he'll reportedly leave the talent evaluation up to offensive coordinator Norv Turner.

In keeping with those reports, Chase Goodbread of NFL.com tweeted Thursday that Zimmer spent time talking with Manziel's college coach, Kevin Sumlin.

Here's what Zimmer told Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Other analysts and media members came away impressed with Manziel, for whatever that's worth.

His pro day even included a few celebrity guests.
