The Minnesota Timberwolves' injury problems aren't going away in the New Year.
Coach Rick Adelmen said Tuesday that he does not expect point guard Ricky Rubio to travel with the Wolves to Utah for Wednesday night's game. Rubio was a late scratch from Saturday's victory over the Phoenix Suns because of back spasms.
The Wolves will play at Denver on Thursday night before returning to Target Center to play face Portland on Saturday.
Rubio made his season debut this month after sitting out the first six weeks while working his way back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He is averaging 4.2 points and 4.0 assists since his return.
Rubio had recently been allowed to play more minutes in his recovery from the torn ACL.
