The Minnesota Timberwolves officially announced Saturday morning that Ricky Rubio has been cleared to play in Saturday night's home game against the Dallas Mavericks. Darren Wolfson was the first to report this news on 1500ESPN.com earlier in the week.
Rubio, who underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL on March 21, has been practicing over the past two weeks. It's unclear what his role will be upon returning, or how much playing time he will get.
The Wolves (11-9) are set to play three games over the next four nights, including on the road in Orlando and Miami on Monday and Tuesday.
"I'm excited to get back on the floor with my teammates and play in front of the best fans in the NBA at Target Center," Rubio said in a statement. "After a long recovery, this is the first step in me getting back on the court and helping my teammates. Thank you to the fans for their support over the last nine months."
