FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Minnesota Twins' five-man rotation is set.
And it will not include Kevin Slowey.
Manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters in Jupiter on Tuesday that Scott Baker has won the fifth starter slot. Slowey will remain on the roster in a bullpen role.
Baker underwent surgery this offseason to remove bone chips and spurs from his elbow, and he suffered a minor setback near the beginning of camp. After his last start in Dunedin on Sunday, Baker said he still experiences some discomfort during warm-ups.
"But once I get loose and get the blood moving, I feel pretty good," Baker said. "So, I don't know, I think that's just part of it."
