The Minnesota Vikings have scheduled a visit with cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, per 1500ESPN.com contributor Darren Wolfson. Munnerlyn will be in Minnesota on Wednesday night to meet with some Vikings officials, something that typically happens over dinner. Munnerlyn will meet with general manager Rick Spielman on Thursday when he returns from Alabama's Pro Day, where first-year coach Mike Zimmer and offensive coordinator Norv Turner also spent Wednesday.
Told FA CB Captain Munnerlyn is due in for a visit with the #Vikings. More details later.— Darren Wolfson (@DarrenWolfson) March 12, 2014
Munnerlyn, 25, is one of a handful of Carolina Panthers free agents from a secondary that finished sixth in the NFL in passing yards allowed (214 yards/game) and allowed the third-fewest passing touchdowns with 17. He's coming off his best statistical season in which he finished with 74 tackles, third-most on the team, and grabbed two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns on a one-year deal he signed to stay in Carolina before last season.
Munnerlyn played on the outside and moved inside to the nickel for the Panthers last season.
