Mike Zimmer's relationship with legendary coach Bill Parcells has been well-documented over the past couple weeks. Zimmer actually said in an interview with 1500 ESPN on Friday that he felt as if Parcells, with constant tidbits of advice, was grooming him to become a head coach someday when the two worked together in Dallas a decade ago.

Zimmer even kept a binder full of advice and observations gathered from his time being around Parcells.

And at his Minnesota Vikings introductory press conference Friday, Zimmer said Parcells called him earlier in the week, when it became apparent he was about to become a head coach, and told Zimmer to write down three important items. Zimmer didn't reveal those items publicly, but ESPN's Chris Mortensen revealed them on Twitter Sunday morning:

1. "Your best friends will disappoint you."

2. "Four or five things happen every day in pro football you wish wouldn't happen, and if you can't handle those, you need to get another job."

3. "It's lonely."

So, there you have it.
