Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love will undergo surgery to repair the third and fourth metacarpal in his right hand on Tuesday, the team announced Monday.

The procedure will be performed by Dr. Michelle Carson at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

Love, who missed the start of the season after breaking his hand, re-injured it during the third quarter of a Jan. 3 game at Denver. He is expected to be sidelined for eight-to-10 weeks.

Love has played in 18 games this season and leads the Wolves in scoring (18.3 points per game), rebounds (14.0 rebounds per game) and double-doubles (14).
