The Minnesota Timberwolves made three expected procedural moves on Wednesday morning, exercising contract options on Wesley Johnson, Lazar Hayward">Lazar Hayward and Wayne Ellington for the 2012-13 season.
Johnson and Hayward, both rookies last year, had their third-year options exercised. Ellington, a two-year veteran, had his fourth-year option exercised.
Free agency normally would begin on Friday. Instead, the NBA is headed for a lockout that will delay player movement indefinitely.
