To make room for Drew Butera on the 25-man roster, the Minnesota Twins designated infielder Sean Burroughs for release or assignment.
After signing a minor league deal this offseason, Burroughs impressed Twins brass enough to earn a 25-man roster spot out of spring training. But in 18 plate appearances last month he hit just .118/.167/.176.
The Twins still have 13 pitchers and 12 position players on the roster, so another move is likely at some point in the coming days.
