Senior forward Tom Serratore netted the go-ahead goal with 6:45 left in the Gophers' 2-1 victory over Penn State on Senior Night at Mariucci Arena on Saturday night.

Five seniors in Serratore, Nate Condon, Jake Parenteau, Justin Holl and Michael Shibrowski said goodbye to their home ice for the final time in front of an announced attendance of 10,045 as Minnesota completed the weekend sweep over the Nittany Lions.

Shibrowski got the ceremonial start, his second of the season, for sophomore Adam Wilcox and finished with 25 saves in his second win.

The Gophers jumped out to a one-goal lead off junior forward Travis Boyd, who also assisted Serratore to complete Boyd's four-point weekend against Penn State.

Serratore's game-winning goal was just his third goal of the season.

The Gophers (23-4-5, 12-2-2 Big Ten) hit the ice again when they travel to Ohio State for a series beginning on March 7.
