FORT MYERS, Fla. - Twins General Manager Terry Ryan went in for a one-week checkup at the Mayo Clinic following surgery to remove cancerous cells in his neck.
Ryan is healing nicely, according to the Twins, and checked out great. He's now back home resting.
There's currently no update for what comes next, but it's good news for Ryan that his first checkup went well.
Team physician Dr. Vijay Eyunni said before Ryan's surgery that radiation therapy was a possible next step.
At the time he revealed his cancer, Ryan said in a statement released by the team that it's his intention to return to the ballpark as soon as possible.
