The Twins needed a solution to short bench and took a step toward rectifying that problem Friday. They activated Aaron Hicks from the 7-day concussion disabled list and selected the contract of Chris Parmelee.

Hicks was placed on the DL a week ago and Friday was the first day he was eligible to return.

Parmelee cleared waivers at the end of spring training and was outrighted off the 40-man roster.

Parmelee needed to be added to the 40-man roster. To make room, the Twins designated for assignment Kenny Wilson. They claimed him off waivers from the Toronoto Blue Jays on April 24.

It's possble he'll clear waivers, as a career .228/.326/.311 hitter in 2,200 plate appearances across 7 minor league seasons.
