MINNEAPOLIS -- Following a 4-0 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Friday, the Minnesota Twins announced third baseman Trevor Plouffe is being activated off the disabled list.
Plouffe last played May 21 at Atlanta, where he suffered a concussion and was placed on the seven-day disabled list. A subsequent calf injury sidelined him on May 29, and required an additional 15-day DL stint. Plouffe posted a .333 batting average (5 for 15) in four games during his rehab stint with Triple-A.
In a corresponding roster move, the Twins optioned catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann to Rochester. Herrmann went 6-for-13 (.462), including his first major league home run.
