Jason Kubel is returning to the franchise that drafted him. The Twins and Kubel agreed to a minor league deal, according to contributor Darren Wolfson.

Jon Heyman of CBS first reported first reported the move on Twitter.

Heyman reports there's a 'good chance' Kubel makes the team, but that might be overstating it. He'll certainly get a chance with this collection of outfield/first base/DH bats, but his 2013 production was horrendous.

The Twins announced that he has an invitation to spring training.
