DALLAS -- The Minnesota Twins have snatched a shortstop from the Baltimore Orioles.
No, not J.J. Hardy.
The Twins announced Monday they have claimed 24-year-old shortstop Pedro Florimon, who batted .267/.344/.396 with eight home runs, 27 doubles and 15 stolen bases (12 caught) in 520 plate appearances for Double-A Bowie last season.
Florimon was a September call-up for Baltimore this year, but he tallied only one hit in eight at-bats.
The Twins now have one open slot on the 40-man roster.
