Drew Butera's time with the Minnesota Twins is over.
As the trade deadline passed Wednesday, the Twins dealt the backup catcher to the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash or a player to be named later.
Butera spent seven years in the Twins organization, posting a .182 batting average in 186 games for the Twins. Apart from a recent brief stint filling in for Joe Mauer, who was off for the birth of his own set of twins, Butera has been at Triple-A Rochester this season.
Following the trade, the Dodgers announced that Butera had been optioned to the Triple-A affiliate Albuquerque Isotopes.
