The official signing of Josh Willingham would seem to indicate that Michael Cuddyer's time with the Minnesota Twins has come to an end.
But that might not be the case.
According to a high-ranking Twins official, the Twins "have not closed the door on anything" regarding Cuddyer as of Thursday afternoon.
Willingham's contract is worth $21 million over three seasons, putting the Twins' 2012 payroll right around $95-96. Adding Cuddyer at a reportedly $25 million over three years would push the payroll up over $100 million.
