The Minnesota Twins transferred Tim Wood to the 60-day disabled list on Friday afternoon, making room on the 40-man roster for Samuel Deduno.

Wood, 30, has shoulder issues dating to late March, and his rehabilitation assignment at Triple-A Rochester was shut down a couple weeks ago.

Deduno, 29, was announced days ago as the starter for Friday's game at Detroit. He has a 2.70 earned-run average and 17 strikeouts with 10 walks and 16 2/3 innings over three starts at Rochester since recovering from a groin injury.

The Twins will have to make another 40-man roster move by Sunday, when P.J. Walters is expected to start the series finale against the Tigers.
