Yohan Pino earned his first win in the big leagues, after parts of nine seasons spent in the minor leagues with four different organizations.

After the game, the Twins optioned him to Triple-A Rochester. It's not that he was ineffective -- he walked a tight rope a couple times, but pitched five innings and allowed just one run. Rather, the Twins needed to make room on the active roster fro Friday's starter, lefty Kris Johnson.

Pino was the logical choice, in part because he would not have pitched again before the All-Star break.

The Twins recalled Johnson from Triple-A Rochester to start on the day that would have been Ricky Nolasco's had he not been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right elbow strain earlier this week.
