For the third time in less than 24 hours, the Minnesota Twins adjusted their bench, optioning catcher Steve Holm to Class-AAA Rochester after Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.
With Joe Mauer still sidelined indefinitely, it wasn't immediately clear who would be the Twins' second catcher for their next series beginning on Friday at Boston. The only other catcher on the 25-man roster is Drew Butera.
The Twins do have an open spot on the 40-man roster if they choose to use it on another catcher, such as Rene Rivera.
In six games with the Twins, Holm was 2-for-17 (.118) with a double.
