It appears as if the Minnesota Twins have cleared room for the return of Tsuyoshi Nishioka.
According to the team website, left-hander Dusty Hughes was outrighted to Triple-A Rochester. The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster, likely for Nishioka, who could be activated from the 60-day disabled list prior to Wednesday night's game against the Chicago White Sox.
Hughes posted a 9.95 ERA with 11 strikeouts and eight walks in 12 2/3 innings for the Twins this season. With Triple-A Rochester, Hughes posted a 3.65 ERA with 16 strikeouts and three walks in 12 1/3 innings.
