Chris Parmelee has proven everything he needs to at Triple-A Rochester. Now he'll get another shot with the Minnesota Twins.
To make room on the 25-man roster, the Twins outrighted right-hander Jeff Gray to Rochester.
Parmelee hit .338/.457/.645 with 17 home runs and 49 RBIs in 64 games for Red Wings. He has mostly struggled in his limited playing time in the big leagues this season, hitting .204/.283/.324 with two home runs.
Promoted from Double-A last season, Parmelee hit .355/.443/.592 with four home runs in 88 September plate appearances.
Gray ate up 52 innings for the Twins, but he struggled to a 5.71 ERA and only 26 strikeouts with 22 walks and nine home runs allowed.
