Justin Morneau will be away from the Minnesota Twins for a few days.

The first baseman has been placed on the three-day paternity list by the team and first baseman Chris Parmelee has been recalled from Triple-A Rochester in time for Saturday night's game against the Royals in Kansas City.

Parmelee, who has split time between the Twins and Triple-A Rochester this year, has hit .302 (29-for-96) with four home runs and 18 RBI in 28 games with the Red Wings.

Morneau's wife, Krista, is due to give birth to their second child.
