MINNEAPOLIS -- Kyle Waldrop is rejoining the Minnesota Twins' ever-changing bullpen.
The team announced after its 12-5 loss to the Chicago White Sox they have recalled the right-hander from Triple-A Rochester and optioned Jeff Manship, whose earned-run average rose to 10.97 after he allowed three runs on five hits in one inning on Wednesday.
Waldrop, 26, was 1-0 with a 5.73 ERA with the Twins last season. The former first-round pick (25th overall in 2004) was in line to compete for a roster spot again this season but landed on the disabled list during spring training with a right elbow strain.
Since recovering from that injury, Waldrop has appeared in nine games at Rochester, posting a 1.26 ERA, five walks and five strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings.
