MINNEAPOLIS -- Nick Blackburn is out of the Minnesota Twins' rotation, but he's not off the roster.

The Twins optioned fellow right-hander Jeff Manship to Class-AAA Rochester after Wednesday's win over Cleveland to make room on the 25-man roster for infielder Alexi Casilla, who will join the team in Baltimore on Thursday.

Casilla had been on the 15-day disabled list since June 1, three days before he had surgery to remove bone chips from his right (throwing) elbow. He played in 14 games at three spots during his rehabilitation assignment, batting .239 with a double and an RBI.

Manship threw two scoreless innings in Tuesday's game against the Indians -- his only action during his second stint with the team this season.
