The Minnesota Twins reinstated reliever Joe Nathan from the disabled list and optioned Jim Hoey to Triple-A Rochester after Thursday's 2-1 loss at San Francisco.

The swap of right-handed relievers was one of two anticipated roster moves by the Twins, who also are expected to reinstate designated hitter Jim Thome from the DL before Friday's series opener at Milwaukee.
