Their bullpen significantly thinned by free-agent departures, the Minnesota Twins avoided arbitration with two pitchers on Tuesday, agreeing to terms on one-year deals with Matt Capps and Glen Perkins.

Capps, 27, will make $7.15 million -- more than double the $3.5 million he made in 2010. The right-hander was 2-0 with a 2.00 earned-run average and 16 saves after arriving in a July 29 trade that sent catching prospect Wilson Ramos to Washington.

Perkins, 27, signed for $700,000. The left-hander spent most of 2010 at Class-AAA Rochester, going 1-1 with a 5.82 ERA in 13 big-league appearances.

Outfielder Delmon Young and pitchers Kevin Slowey and Francisco Liriano were set to file their arbitration numbers later Tuesday.
