Twins select Louisville closer, flamethrower Nick Burdi in 2nd round

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins selected Nick Burdi, a hard-throwing college right-hander, with the 46th pick in the MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Burdi, who served as Louisville's closer this season, has the best fastball among college pitchers, according to Baseball America.
He can light up a radar gun, according to various reports, some which have him throwing 100 mph.
The Cardinals are in the super regional this weekend.
