The Twins will select the contract of Matt Guerrier, the team announced Wednesday night. Guerrier was signed to a minor league contract.

To make room on the 25-man roster for Guerrier, the Twins will option the 13th pitcher on the staff, Logan Darnell, back to the minor leagues.

It seems likely the Twins will add another position player soon, because they played Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with two bench players. The third bench player, Joe Mauer, has not played since he left Sunday's game with low-back spasms.

Since Guerrier is not on the 40-man roster, they'll have to clear a spot to add him.
