MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday that 25-year-old right-handed pitcher Loek Van Mil will be sent to the Los Angeles Angels to complete last week's Brian Fuentes trade.

Van Mil, 7-1, 220-pounds, posted a 6.15 ERA with 27 strikeouts and 22 walks in 33 2/3 innings as a reliever between Class-A Fort Myers and Class-AA New Britain this season.

Van Mil was designated for assignment by the Twins on August 27.

If the season ended today, Fuentes is projected to be a Type-B free agent, meaning the Twins would be eligible to receive a supplemental draft pick as compensation if the lefty were to turn down arbitration.
