Liam Hendriks, in search of his first major league victory, was handed a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth inning against the Detroit Tigers on Monday night.

He couldn't finish the job, and now Hendriks will head back to Triple-A Rochester for the second time this season. The Minnesota Twins plan to recall right-hander Cole De Vries to take Hendriks' place in the rotation.

In eight starts for the Twins this season Hendriks owns a 7.04 ERA with 10 home runs allowed in only 38 1/3 innings.

De Vries held the Royals to just one run in six innings on Saturday night. He will likely start Saturday night in Texas.
