USA Basketball on Thursday announced the 28 players who will comprise the men's 2014-16 National Team Pool and Kevin Love made the cut

From that pool, the 2014 World Championship team and the 2016 Olympic Team will be selected.

An excerpt from USA Basketball's website:

The USA National Team pool will be fluid; USA Basketball Chairman and National Team Managing Director Jerry Colangelo may add athletes at any time.

The best power forward in the game deserves a spot on the roster, and Love's evolution into that player may have begun while playing for Team USA in the 2012 London Olympics. Love is one of 14 players who also were part of the Gold Medal team from 2012.

"It's an honor to once again have the opportunity to represent my country as part of Team USA," Love told USA Basketball. "I look forward to beginning our journey towards defending our gold medal."
