Cordarrelle Patterson spent much of his rookie season learning on the job but still managed to score nine touchdowns and displayed an ability to make big plays.

Now, with a season of experience and Norv Turner serving as his offensive coordinator, Patterson is expecting big things from himself in 2014.

"I'm going to be a top-five playmaker," Patterson told "I'm a playmaker, I like to make plays. Like I tell them, just get the ball in my hands I feel like I'm special with it. I just like to do special things with the ball."

Patterson's touchdowns last season included four on receptions, three rushing and two on kickoff returns. The third of three first-round draft choices by the Vikings in 2013, Patterson lacks no confidence when it comes to his ability to change games in quick fashion.

"You gotta have that mindset, you got to have that dog mindset," he said. "Like my coach always tells me, they want Rottweilers and pit bulls, they don't want no Chihuahua, they want dawgs."
