The Vikings met their target date for the return of safety Andrew Sendejo. He has been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list, the team announced on Twitter.
Sendejo opened training camp on the PUP list after he had back surgery in May. Mike Zimmer said that Sendejo also was dealing with an ankle injury. He hasn't practiced in 2014.
He was seen externally as a safety option opposite Harrison Smith, but given the late start to camp that seems like a longshot for Week 1, anyway.
"I haven't seen him one day," Zimmer said earlier in training camp. "So I don't know anything."
He signed a two-year extension with the Vikings in September.
